Client: Compaq Computers (now part of Hewlitt Packard) is an international information technology company. It was founded in 1982 in Palo Alto, CA and developed, sold, and supported computers and related products and services. Compaq produced some of the first IBM PC compatible computers, being the second company after Columbia Data Products to legally reverse engineer the BIOS of the IBM Personal Computer. It rose to become the largest supplier of PC systems during the 1990s before being overtaken by Dell in 2001. Hewlett Packard acquired Compaq in 2002.
Challenges: Write a more customer-focused company brochure based on new tone-of-voice branding standards that xtraBrandwidth (then Amicus Business Communications) developed.
Results: The brochure was well received by Compaq corporate and became a template for other Compaq brochures.
“Amicus was instrumental in helping us develop shorter, more customer-focused deliverables. We are now producing sharper brochures that speak more directly to the needs of our customers.”
