Client: DSM Chemicals (now DSM-Firmenich) is an international science-based leader in health, nutrition and bioscience. Established in 1902 by the Dutch government to mine coal reserves in the southern province of Limburg, it has undertaken several strategic transformations to become a company focused on creating science-based health and nutrition solutions for the world. It has produced scientific breakthroughs that date back to the first ever yeast and enzyme production at scale in the late 19th century, as well as the first chemical synthesis of vitamins in the 1930s.
Challenges: Produce a corporate brochure for amoxycillin. A previous writer had failed to achieve the tone and approach that DSM wanted.
Results: xtraBrandwidth (then Amicus Business Communications) nailed the tone and approach on the first draft, requiring only minimal revisions. DSM went on to use xtraBrandwidth for numerous (internal and external) projects across business units. These included brochures, training manuals and highly technical newsletters and articles.
“Leslie didn’t need much guidance developing a corporate brochure for us. The first company we hired had made five unsuccessful text proposals before we turned the project over to Leslie. She translated the complex material into easy-to-read copy with a healthy but appropriate dose of wit. Having worked for many different international business-to-business companies she was able to quickly and clearly isolate the communication issues we had at DSM.”
